| | w00t! I just got a job at the University of Minnesota! I'll now get all weekends off and work a normal 9:30-6 schedule! It'll also be nice to be able to move back to civilization. The specific location is in Minneapolis. City-living will be quite an adjustment. Wish me luck! | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

| Time for an update, methinks.
Work at Northfield is going well, though I must admit that the shift cuts into my social-life quite a bit.
I moved into my apartment the weekend before last, and I finally have everything unpacked. The place is pretty nice, and I love the huge balcony I have. My bed just arrived today and boy am I happy. Sleeping on the floor was cramping muscles I didn’t know I had.
I’ve come to a juncture in my life where I don’t know what to do relationship-wise. Previously I’ve always gravitated strongly towards having a SO or being single. Now, though, I’m torn. On one hand I’m enjoying my space and independence- on the other my life is really great right now and I think being able to share that would only improve it.
I need to find a new series of books to read. I’ve now read pretty much all of H.P. Lovecraft’s work, and have nothing to keep me busy during the long downtimes at work. Anybody have any suggestions? | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |
| | I'm done with my clinical training and back in Minnesota to stay. I'm currently speaking with some of the Mayo Clinic HR folks to get a job there as a CLS. Soon as that's done, I can start apartment/condo searching. It's great to be back! XD | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

| Hello, ev-ree-budy. I've been super busy, and I apologize if any of you have felt ignored for the last few weeks or months. Ima make a large update tomorrow on the recent events and misadventures in my life.
Short version now: I have a pseudo-gf, work is going well, and Indian food is awesome. More to come. | comments: Leave a comment |

| | Well, this weekend has been a blur. I drove up to Minnesota for my graduation ceremony on Friday, and back down to Iowa City on Sunday because I had to start working today at 7 AM. Things have been rather hectic in the blood blank, and I've been really exhausted. Overall, though, I'm really enjoying myself and am very happy that I think I've picked the right career. | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |

| Well, the hospital I'm working at just gave me a concrete job offer. $22 an hour, near free full-coverage health insurance, time-and-a-half overtime pay, 3 weeks vacation to start, and a great retirement savings plan. As much as I hate to admit it, staying here is starting to look pretty appealing (pig smell aside). Also met a nice young lady named (creepily enough) Angie. She's sweet, funny, and loves the horror genre (both cinematic and literary). She also has the cutest little 4-year old daughter who likes to try and make up jokes. Cute cute!
I only have one more week of training in the microbiology department before I move to blood bank training. I must admit, I'll miss micro. There are a lot of fun people in there. If I take the job here, I'll have my choice of departments- I have to ponder where I'd like to be placed. Maybe the NICU. *ponders* | comments: 5 comments or Leave a comment |
| | Things are going fairly well here, and I'm starting to get settled in. People in this city are nice and the temperature has been great. The only hard thing has been my lack of phone and internet access, which will be fixed as of this Friday- you can look for me on Yahoo/AIM then. Lata. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| | Sorry about the dead air, but I'm not going to have regular internet access until the 15th of this month. Until then, I'll try to drop in on my breaks during work and make micro entries like this one. This hospital is awesome! It's nearly as big as Mayo, and I get plenty of opportunities to see things that I wouldn't at a normal medical center. It's been very educational so far. More later. Luv ya, folks. :P | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| | Oh yeah. Also got some new scrubs today for when I start my clinicals. A dark blue pair and gray. I look pretty hawt, if I do say so myself. ;-D | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| Well, I've been sleeping for almost 2 days straight, but I did it. I'm finally done with this damn term and finished with my degree. In my 10 classes I got 5 A's and 5 B's. Not my best work, but I still think it's pretty good given the volume. XD
This Monday, I'll be driving down to Iowa City with Chris to tour the hospital that we'll be doing our clinicals at. And to look at a nice apartment building.
To reward myself I finally got that new(ish) Naruto fighting game for PS2. It's lotsa fun and really helping me wind down. | comments: 7 comments or Leave a comment |

'A plane crashed and every single person died. Yet there were survivors. How is this possible?'

| I reckon it’s time for an update, seeing as I actually have stuff to talk about for a change. It’s been a pretty eventful week.
This Thursday I donated blood using something called the Alex donation method. It was… interesting. Basically, they take an extra unit of blood, filter the red blood cells out, and return the plasma back into my bloodstream so that my blood volume stayed at a healthy level. They used a huge needle and I was hooked up to that damn machine for almost an hour, but helping people is helping people.
Yesterday I finally found out where I’m going for my clinical training/residency- The University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. Redundant, eh? :-P It’s no Mayo clinic, but it’s still pretty prestigious to score myself a clinical position and a university medical/research hospital, so I’m not complaining. | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| I've got a 4 day vacation coming up (for the 4th), so I think I'll head up to Duluth. I need to get away for a bit, and that's a pretty slow-paced and relaxing place. Ima find a nice place by the water and just sketch for a few hours or write some poetry. *serene smile* For now, tho, bedtime.
Oh, oh! I was doing some cleaning in the garage for my parents yesterday and I found my old Sephiroth and Cloud action figures! Now I have something to play with while I watch FFVII: Advent Children. *big stupid grin* | comments: 5 comments or Leave a comment |
| | W00t. Finally finished a project I've been working on most of the day. Just in time to play some Street Fighter Alpha anthology before bed. | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |
